Extinction Mayday - DLC 2 Map Includes Seeders, Kraken BOSS and Crafting

"Mayday" is the DLC 2 Extinction map for COD Ghosts which takes place on an abandoned Chinese research vessel. Two new aliens; the Seeder and Kraken make their first appearance in the Mayday Extinction map. A new crafting feature is also included whereby players upgrade their Venom-X by finding additional parts.

Story:
"You're sent to the research vessel to find Doctor Cross and save her from Archer."

The map continues where the Nightfall map left of and if you've seen the final cutscene from Nightfall you'll know exactly what to expect.

New Aliens

Seeders

Very similar to scorpions but with a slight twist. Seeders will sometimes launch pods that transform into plant turrets - firing plasma at players from the sides of walls or crates.





Kradken



The Kraken is a 100ft sea monster and it's the BOSS alien in Mayday. From the preview it appears that the Kraken is a giant octopus or squid because of its large tentacles.



If it's anything like the Breeder from Nightfall - we're in for a big fight from the Kraken too!

Crafting

Starting in Mayday, players can now find new parts scattered around the map and upgrade their Venom-X weapon. There are four different variations of the Venom-X to craft with each one changing the firepower of the weapon.

In the screenshot below, the Venom-X has been upgraded with purple plasma rather than the typical yellow/green venom.

Extinction Mayday - Release Date

Confirmed as the 3rd of April on Xbox Live. Followed by PC and PS3 approximately a month later.
