googleIt looks like a serious rival to Google Adsense has finally arrived. WordPress users can now apply to the WordAds program and include ads on their WordPress blogs. Bloggers will take a share of profits from any click through.
WordAds are picked from the Federated Media pool of advertisers who are the advertising partner of choice for WordPress. The WordAds service is completely optional and is designed for bloggers who want to make money from advertising on their blogs. There is no obligation to sign up.

What type of ads can I use with WordAds
It's likely that you will be able to use the tried and trusted text and image ads mixture. Ad sizes will fall into the default categories of Skyscraper, banner and box sizes. Expect the usual 250x250, 300x280, 728x90, 468x60 and 160x600 side bars.
Not sure if you will get the nice ad blocking and category filtering features that come with Adsense because that program has matured greatly over the last 6 years.
Can you use WordAds with Adsense?
Yes, check out the sites mentioned above and you will see the two types of ads side by side. Notice the number of ads in use on the Apple Insider site, three of the 160x600 ads down the right hand side!
