Advanced Warfare Exo-Zombies Cutscene - Is there a 4th Gamemode?

By now you've probably seen the leaked Exo Zombies cutscene (which is not a trailer IGN so please get that right!) but does that really mean there's a mysterious 4th game mode in Advanced Warfare? So far all the clues point to NO and I'll tell you why.

The cutscene first came to light on the 30th October (4 days before the official launch of the Zero Day Edition) via a rather indiscreet Reddit post. I have to admit that it's an epic clip, along the same lines as World War Z where a whole plague of zombies are chasing you down as you try and escape. That's a big change from Treyarch's model, where zombies are typically slower and never hunt in packs.

Want to watch the cutscene for yourself? Thanks to copyright take-downs by Activision there's practically zero chance you'll see the cutscene on YouTube until the game is released. Those who uploaded to their YouTube account will also get banned pretty quickly so all mainstream gaming channels will stay clear of the leak for now. Ok so back to the question. Is there a 4th game mode? Quick answer is NO. Although there's been an absolute tonne of cutscene uploads by various users, some who got it early and others who simply tried to spread the word, there's not been a single gameplay video! Not even one. So there's the proof, it's just a cutscene for something which is coming later for Advanced Warfare.

Further to this, a Twitter user by the name of Laggin24x confirmed that nothing happens after the cutscene:



Before you get disappointed, that doesn't necessary mean you'll have to wait for DLC before playing Exo Zombies. It could be a clever trick from Sledgehammer to withhold the 4th menu option until launch day and then release a day one update to unlock it. Chances are slim because anyone who's been playing Destiny knows that DLC has become the ultimate milking machine...but let's wait and see!

How to unlock the Cutscene and possible zombies mode?

You all know about the 10th round in Exo-Survival right? It's got zombies in it. Well, beat that round on the Riot map (final survival map) and you'll see the zombies cutscene straight after. As soon as the short scene ends you'll be taken back to the main menu with a little message saying "congratulations you survived".

Update - Zero Day Edition confirms that you DO get additional content after you've watched the cutscene. It's not a new mode (which has been shelved for future DLC) but instead a collection of wearables that you can apply to your character. For example there's a Zombie helmet, exo-skeleton, gloves, pants, knee guards, & boot which you can use in the customization screen.
