Battlefield 3 - Close Quarters DLC Release Date in June

The second set of DLC for Battlefield 3 has been confirmed for June. The DLC called Close Quarters will come with 4 new maps, 10 additional weapons and new achievements. These maps emphasize infantry skirmishes in close quarter situations.

Like other BF3 maps, the Close Quarters environments will contain destructible elements. You'll be able to blast the walls off of buildings and see rumble piling up. Of the four maps, we've managed to see the Ziba Tower which is an office complex spanning several floors. It encourages close quarter combat (hence the name), space is limited and you can expect high kill counts when playing these. Like all the new maps, vertical space has been optimized so you get a competitive environment that's not your usual Call of Duty merry go round.

Two other packs were also announced at GDC 2012. They are:

• Armoured Kill which focuses on vehicle combat
• End Game - details are secret at the moment

There is no set date for their release yet.
