Posted in battlefield 3

After weeks of anticipation and endless COD vs Battlefield discussions we finally get to see how good Battlefield 3 really is. If you've read any reviews before the game was even published, forget them! The real truth becomes clear from the actual gamers who've bought the game.

Rather than write an endless long winded review that comes down to a simple score rating, we'll give you the quick heads up now..

Summary

Battlefield Single Player – waste of time
Battlefield Multiplayer – excellent but lag is annoying

Tell me more..

Since those early screenshots of Battlefield 3, and the enticing Frostbite video footage from E3, we knew we'd have a real contender for Call of Duty this year. Frostbite 2 offered the most amazingly cinematic graphics that would make you drool for hours. Tank battles and urban fighting that made you feel like you were in a film.

Now the game is here its back to reality..

Most gamers don't buy Battlefield games to enjoy the Single Player but you can't dismiss this element of the game. Unfortunately, during the single player campaign you'll spend most of your time watching and very little time interacting. Yes you do have to take the controls sometimes but for the most part you're a spectator to a cinematic marvel. It's stunning to look at but disappointing as far as gaming goes. It's also a long campaign (over 5 hours). If you want to buy Battlefield 3 for offline play then don't waste your time.

So where does Battlefield make up for its SP disappointment? Well, the multiplayer is excellent. It's not a revolutionary multiplayer (that it could have been) but it feels good to play and there's enough variety in there to keep you interested. Classes and weapons come in abundance so there's no shortage of combinations to try. Graphics are gorgeous and the gameplay is fast and fluid.

Some will think we're being too harsh but in truth, Battlefield 3 still feels rushed. There's a noticeable lag online and some of the left over's from Beta are still there. Glitches and bugs are still present but thankfully none of them (so far) are major. Battlelog needs a bit of tweaking but this will hopefully come in time.

We can't make your mind up for you but we're sure that most Battlefield fans will be pleased with the result!!
