New Extinction Map Nightfall Episode 1 - COD Ghosts Onslaught DLC

The first DLC map pack for COD Ghosts includes a new Extinction map called Nightfall Episode 1. Unlike the original Extinction map included in Ghosts, Nightfall is the first of the Extinction campaign and this episode includes new aliens, wonder weapon and a backstory.
Not only is Nightfall Episode 1 a new map but its the start of a whole story. The Extinction campaign is a 5 part mini-series that tells the backstory of the aliens and explains why they're here. Episode 1 picks off where Point of Contact left off.
The Nightfall map is located in a snow base up in Alaska, with "over the top bombastic action" as described by Infinity Ward.

New Wonder Weapon - Venom-X
The new Wonder Weapon in Nightfall (the first to be seen in Extinction mode) is based on the Scorpion alien and similar in some ways to the Acid Blunder Gat from Zombies Mob of the Dead. It's official name is Venom-X and players can earn the "Turnabout is fair play" achievement by killing 50 Cryptids using the new wonder weapon.
It shoots green liquid, with a sizeable and powerful blast radius much like an RPG. If you remember from Point of Contact, the Scorpion Aliens fired green plazma - now it's your turn to give them some of their own medicine via the new Wonder Weapon!
New Aliens
Phantom
The Phantom is a new medium sized alien with purple eyes and a lizard appearance. He likes to jump alot and whilst jumping he becomes invisible. Similar in some ways to the Phasing Zombies from the Moon map.
Breeder
A huge alien with spindly legs and spider like features. The Breeder is capable of climbing over structures including fences and small buildings, and he'll skewer you with his sharp legs if you come too close.
Unlike the other aliens which appear frequently, there is only one Breeder and the player must kill the Breeder to complete Nightfall Episode 1. If players successfully kill the Breeder, they will be rewarded with the "Survived Nightfall" achievement.
Multiplayer Maps
Along with the new Extinction episode, the DLC also comes with 4 multiplayer maps (small to medium sized) called:
Fog
Bayview
Containment
Ignition

Onslaught DLC - Release Date
The Onslaught DLC will be available to download on Xbox 360 and XBox Live first, on the 28th January 2014. PC and PS4 versions will be available a month later (February).
