The next instalment of the best selling first person shooter series, Call of Duty, has been officially revealed. The new Black Ops game takes the COD series into the future as players battle it out in new surroundings with a variety of new weapons and vehicles.
Unlike its predecessor, the new Call of Duty game shifts towards a futuristic warfare setting. The early screenshots reveal that the game is set in a near future cold war (10-20 years), where technology has advanced to create a new generation of warfare. As you can see, the attack drones (quadrotor) have turned into something out of Halo or the Terminator films, and the players combat suit looks more like a spacesuit.
Official Trailer
The first official trailer for the new game will be aired in the U.S. on 1st May. We'll update the Youtube video below for the trailer as soon as its released.
Confirmed details
- Futuristic warfare (10-20 years ahead)
- Zombies mode is back
- New kill streaks (quadrotor)
More to follow later..The viral video for the quadrotor was released last week. Similar in many ways to the recon drone from MW3, the quadrotor is controlled by the player and comes with a front mounted machine gun.
